Dalmally
Spectators: 6806 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Craig French started the match with the kick off. Simon Crozier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike McColman having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, Dalmally City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamie Foster to maneuver through the defense. After 12 played minutes, Banchory's Daniel Jamieson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mike McColman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Banchory reached it. In the 19thth minute of the game Simon Crozier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dalmally City's Mike McColman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Simon Crozier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Jamieson hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Fergus Dyer made a precise shot to the right of Connor Gill. Banchory's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Connor Gill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Craig French, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Rick McAdam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike McColman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Banchory's zone, Fergus Dyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connor Gill came out of the goal and Fergus Dyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 38 minutes, Josh Eadie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banchory and the Dalmally City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fergus Dyer struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Connor Gill didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dalmally City. Fergus Dyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Connor Gill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 minutes, Ronald Forstar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dalmally City and the Banchory players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Dalmally City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronald Forstar to maneuver through the defense. Simon Crozier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Mike McColman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Crozier to make the kick off. Connor Gill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fergus Dyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lee McShannachan's late challenge caught a Banchory's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lee McShannachan helped the player get up and apologised. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dalmally City! The referee gave Banchory a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Jamieson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Dalmally City's Mike McColman. 1-2. Mike McColman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Crozier in the 66th minute of the match. When Fergus Dyer came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Dalmally City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fergus Dyer couldn't finish the play. Connor Gill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Craig French, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 78th minute, Rick McAdam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mike McColman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Dalmally City's Ronald Forstar got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Connor Gill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fergus Dyer's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Craig French in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Connor Gill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Connor Gill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Craig French, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Craig French came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Dalmally City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Craig French couldn't finish the play. Banchory's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
