Malcolm McKaskill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Stark, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Kenny McLaine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Malcolm McKaskill tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Danny Beath fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Golden State Warriors's protests and gave Danny Beath a yellow card for diving instead. Danny Beath kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Oliver McRitchie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tyler McKerracher in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny McLaine in the 29th minute of play forced Golden State Warriors's goalkeeper Malcolm McKaskill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Nicholas Comine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenny McLaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McKaskill having to interfere. In the 34thth minute of the game William Stark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golden State Warriors's Malcolm McKaskill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Troy Murchison in the 37th minute of play forced Golden State Warriors's goalkeeper Malcolm McKaskill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tyler McKerracher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Prestwick United's Lewis Bowers got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Tyler McKerracher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Malcolm McKaskill acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from David McLarty. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Tyler McKerracher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden State Warriors's supporters rose to their feet, but Tyler McKerracher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver McRitchie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Malcolm McKaskill didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kenny McLaine went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 77 played minutes Golden State Warriors got a freekick which was hit by Tyler McKerracher. After a rather tough play, Golden State Warriors's Danny Beath got a free kick in the 79th minute. Golden State Warriors's Malcolm McKaskill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Stark in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fraser Combie during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fraser Combie hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. If William Stark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Prestwick United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
