Mc Dillon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alexandria FC the free kick. Eddie Carrick kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Ciaran Connor fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mc Dillon FC's protests and gave Ciaran Connor a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mc Dillon FC's Ciaran Connor got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th match minute, Mc Dillon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciaran Connor to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Alexandria FC booed when Mc Dillon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cameron Tawesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nigel Abbott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim McBain in the 16th minute of play forced Alexandria FC's goalkeeper Ter Gow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Larry McGown made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Abbott in the 19th minute of play. Nigel Abbott could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Larry McGown made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Simon Carmichael could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Larry McGown however easily saved by the left post. Larry McGown showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nigel Abbott in the 35th minute of the match. Reece Carmichael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Gow having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Casey during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Alexandria FC! After the first half Mc Dillon FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nigel Abbott to strike the kick off in the second half. Reece Carmichael in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ter Gow, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Reece Carmichael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ter Gow having to interfere. Alexandria FC's Nigel Abbott got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Larry McGown took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Carmichael, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, one of Alexandria FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 82 minutes, Mc Dillon FC's Tim Dickson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ter Gow. Larry McGown made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Abbott in the 87th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Mc Dillon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel Abbott came free, but Larry McGown reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mc Dillon FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
