Angus Carrigan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davie McNuir in the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Edinburgh Steelers FC's Ray McKelloch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angus Carrigan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Marcus Lenny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus Alcorn having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Terry McPatrick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gus Alcorn was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Ray McKelloch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angus Carrigan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davie McNuir in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Beauly's Angus Carrigan got control of the ball when Ray McKelloch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Terry McPatrick took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gus Alcorn. Gus Alcorn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Terry McPatrick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beauly's supporters rose to their feet, but Terry McPatrick was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gus Alcorn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Larry Greusach during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Edinburgh Steelers FC's Larry Greusach got a free kick in the 39th minute. Brandon McCrain, 39 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Davie McNuir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Beauly booed when Edinburgh Steelers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alisdair Hutchison didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Terry McPatrick managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edinburgh Steelers FC's Gus Alcorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terry McPatrick in the 62nd minute of play. After 65 played minutes Beauly got a freekick which was hit by Colin Barbour. Alistair Mennie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 66th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 76th minute, Davie McNuir made a precise shot to the right of Angus Carrigan. Beauly's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Terry McPatrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gus Alcorn having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Edinburgh Steelers FC got a freekick which was hit by Billy Donleavy. In the 86th minute of the match Beauly got a corner. Edinburgh Steelers FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brandon McCrain ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ray McKelloch's late challenge caught a Beauly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ray McKelloch helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Terry McPatrick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dougal Elder kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Ray McKelloch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
