Beauly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terry McPatrick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus Lenny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Adrian Jameson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian Jameson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Lenny, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Adrian Jameson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Colin Barbour went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Terry McPatrick to make the kick off. The supporters of United Kingdom Football booed when Beauly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon McCrain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wal McMenzies sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beauly's Angus Carrigan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Small in the 68th minute of play.
