Edmond Conlon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Drummore booed when Troon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandon Abbot didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute of the match Bob Hamilton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steve Cooke showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Troon's zone, Edmond Conlon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Cooke came out of the goal and Edmond Conlon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Steve Cooke had great luck who in the 11thth minute grab hold of the ball when Daniel McVicar from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. With an all-out effort, Drummore's Steve Cooke threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Daniel McVicar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brandon Abbot during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Troon getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Brandon Abbot hit a great ball. Daniel McVicar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After recieving a nice pass, Troon's Graeme Dewar tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Steve Cooke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmond Conlon went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Drummore's Bob Hamilton got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 50th minute, Brandon Abbot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Troon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel McVicar made a kick off. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Troon's goalkeeper Steve Cooke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel McVicar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Cooke having to interfere. Arthur Coutts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 minutes, Archie McNiven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drummore and the Troon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Archie McNiven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arthur Coutts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus McLaws read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Alex Craig took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Steve Cooke. Troon's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 74 minutes, Daniel McVicar made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Troon's Steve Cooke tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel McVicar in the 77th minute of play forced Troon's goalkeeper Steve Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel McVicar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Cooke having to interfere. A hard shot by Gavin McIlriach from long distance, 84 minutes into the match, got Marcus McLaws's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Arthur Coutts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus McLaws having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Edmond Conlon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Cooke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddie McGown fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus McLaws having to interfere. Troon's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
