Spectators: 6814 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 0) Kelty's Adrian McGilroy started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Kelty's Greg McShannachan got control of the ball when Jim Forrister tried to sneak it across the goal line. Greg McCowan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Greg McShannachan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greg McShannachan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greg McCowan in the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Dylan McLarty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Greg McShannachan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greg McCowan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jim Forrister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg McShannachan having to interfere. Greg McShannachan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Greg McCowan's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Nicol Carter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian McGilroy in the 22nd minute of the match. If Adrian McGilroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute Wally Dis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicol Carter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greg McShannachan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jim Forrister in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Greg McCowan made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian McGilroy in the 56th minute of play forced Troon AFC's goalkeeper Nicol Carter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jim Forrister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg McShannachan having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jim Forrister in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Greg McShannachan saved Kelty from getting behind. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jim Forrister sped through Kelty's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Greg McShannachan. After having played for 66 minutes, Jim Forrister managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Troon AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jim Forrister was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute Greg McCowan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg McShannachan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicol Carter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian McGilroy in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Troon AFC's zone, Wally Dis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicol Carter came out of the goal and Wally Dis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Kelty booed when Troon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terry Erskine didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Kelty's Ross Edgar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Dylan McLarty was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. Greg McShannachan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Forrister in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Kelty getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Adrian McGilroy hit a great ball. Jim Forrister sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Troon AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
