Dominic Adkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paddy Robinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Irvin Lawrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Aidan Blackburn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lochailort City's Anthony McPhater got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Irvin Lawrie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portree FC's Dominic Adkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paddy Robinson in the 21st minute of play. After some careless play in the Portree FC defense, Darren McNeilage kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dominic Adkins. The Portree FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dominic Adkins should have stopped the shot. Portree FC's Irvin Lawrie got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Irvin Lawrie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ewan Carrick hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Aidan Blackburn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irvin Lawrie in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Portree FC got a freekick which was hit by Mike Burnett. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darren McNeilage got free with Dominic Adkins in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Greenlaw was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Portree FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paddy Robinson came free, but Dominic Adkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Greenlaw in the 54th minute of play forced Lochailort City's goalkeeper Aidan Blackburn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Oliver Greenlaw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aidan Blackburn was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Lochailort City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Oliver Greenlaw scored to the left of an out of position Aidan Blackburn, making the score, 1-2. Darren McNeilage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominic Adkins having to interfere. The Portree FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
