Jacob McKenrick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th match minute, Mallaig AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh Brebner to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes Mallaig AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eric Cluny. Murray McNaughton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marc Gilbride in the 24th minute. The referee ignored Celtic City's protests and gave Neil McCutchen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Neil McCutchen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marc Gilbride's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Murray McNaughton firmly grabbed it by the left post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacob McKenrick made a kick off. Daniel Broom made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Eric Cluny sent off a good shot on target. When James Hutcheson fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celtic City's protests and gave James Hutcheson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute Jacob McKenrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celtic City's James Hutcheson got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered James Hutcheson off the ground. 66 minutes into the game, one of Celtic City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Celtic City's zone, Jacob McKenrick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Broom came out of the goal and Jacob McKenrick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Hugh Brebner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alistair McDrain kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Daniel Broom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavin McLean in the 83rd minute of play. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Celtic City's goalkeeper Daniel Broom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Greg Coutts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacob McKenrick was extremely unlucky when he, in the 97th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Hugh Brebner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
