Mallaig Park
Spectators: 6804 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1804, VIP seats: 0) Jacob McKenrick made the kick off and thus started the match. If Barry McKeggie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barry McKeggie in the 6th minute of play forced Mallaig AFC's goalkeeper Murray McNaughton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jacob McKenrick came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Mallaig AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob McKenrick couldn't finish the play. Eric Cluny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murray McNaughton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry McKeggie in the 15th minute of the match. Troy Cook recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barry McKeggie struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Murray McNaughton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strathaven City. Murray McNaughton didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Strathaven City's Troy Cook shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Murray McNaughton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry McKeggie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ray Spittel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob McKenrick in the 38th minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Jacob McKenrick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mallaig AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacob McKenrick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
In the 52nd match minute, Mallaig AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Munro Appleby to maneuver through the defense. Ronnie Small struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Murray McNaughton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strathaven City. 60 minutes into the match, Mallaig AFC's goalkeeper Murray McNaughton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Troy Cook. In the 62nd minute, Munro Appleby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Strathaven City's Barry McKeggie, in the 63rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Strathaven City. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Mallaig AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Strathaven City:s goal. Ronnie Small shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Troy Cook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Mallaig AFC's Murray McNaughton got control of the ball when Barry McKeggie tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Troy Cook notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Mallaig AFC's Murray McNaughton. Murray McNaughton was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Jack Tarrill fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strathaven City's protests and gave Jack Tarrill a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mallaig AFC booed when Strathaven City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Tarrill didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronnie Small during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronnie Small kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Murray McNaughton made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Barry McKeggie sent off a good shot on target. Strathaven City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
