Seating: 1797, VIP seats: 155) 2 minutes into the match, Celtic City's goal looked a bit too open when Barry McKeggie came free, but Daniel Broom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Strathaven City's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Iain Webster 5 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Daniel Broom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Troy Cook, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Barry McKeggie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Strathaven City's Ray Spittel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iain Webster in the 19th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barry McKeggie got free with Daniel Broom in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute Marc Gilbride shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Spittel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Celtic City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Strathaven City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
