Spectators: 6810 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1810, VIP seats: 0) Bob McCarter started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rdth minute of the game Simon Swan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Seaview United's Arthur McCluskie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Darvel City's Peter Huntly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob McCarter in the 4th minute of play. Tommy Gardner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur McCluskie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Gardner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Huntly made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Sean Brownson sent off a good shot on target. Bob McCarter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Huntly having to interfere. Bob McCarter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peter Huntly having to make a save. Bruce Bell kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Gardner in the 25th minute of play forced Seaview United's goalkeeper Arthur McCluskie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tam O'Shannaig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Peter Huntly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Seaview United's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Swan came free, but Arthur McCluskie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tommy Gardner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Bob McCarter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Brownson got in the 60th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Peter Huntly handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Quentin McCrae hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Bob McCarter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute of the match Greg Williamson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Peter Huntly showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Seaview United getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Rob Ogilvie hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Simon Swan got free with Arthur McCluskie in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
