Spectators: 6788 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1788, VIP seats: 0) Burntisland's Timmy McLachlan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christopher McClymont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordan King, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Iain McKeamish kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. The supporters of Linlithgow City booed when Burntisland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davie Neilson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Burntisland's goal looked a bit too open when Scott Suttie came free, but Christopher McClymont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danny Downie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmy McLachlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th match minute, Linlithgow City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scott Suttie to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute Burntisland were awarded a corner. Theo McThomas went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Theo McThomas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danny Downie quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Timmy McLachlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Timmy McLachlan struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Danny Downie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burntisland. Danny Downie was a little too slow when Patrick McRobb got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-0. Jordan King blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christopher McClymont having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Davie Neilson during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Reid to make the kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Timmy McLachlan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linlithgow City's Danny Downie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christopher McClymont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Reid, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 played minutes Burntisland got a freekick which was hit by Davie Neilson. Thanks to some nice moves Jordan King could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Christopher McClymont however easily saved by the left post. Patrick McRobb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Danny Downie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liam Reid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christopher McClymont having to interfere. A collision led to Linlithgow City getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ter Allanson hit a great ball. Theo McThomas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Linlithgow City's zone, Patrick McRobb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Downie came out of the goal and Patrick McRobb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Burntisland's Christopher McClymont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Reid in the 92nd minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Linlithgow City walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
