Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Linlithgow City's Liam Reid started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Jeremy Watt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Downie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danny Downie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Watt, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Jeremy Watt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liam Reid blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darren McNuyer having to make a save. Rangers FC's Darren McNuyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Reid in the 16th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Alexander McLeister hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Linlithgow City's Norman Connall couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Rangers FC. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers FC's zone, Jordan King stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darren McNuyer came out of the goal and Jordan King tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darren McNuyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordan King in the 27th minute of the match. Ronnie McGilvray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Downie having to interfere. If Iain McKeamish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liam Reid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darren McNuyer having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Craig Kinnell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darren McNuyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liam Reid in the 39th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rangers FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Linlithgow City. Norman Connall stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Darren McNuyer. 0-1. The Rangers FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Linlithgow City were winning 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremy Watt to strike the kick off in the second half. Darren McNuyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iain McKeamish in the 51st minute. Rangers FC's Darren McNuyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Rangers FC from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the game, Jordan King lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Darren McNuyer. Ronnie McGilvray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Danny Downie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronnie McGilvray in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Danny Downie saved Linlithgow City from getting behind. Liam Reid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Linlithgow City's Jordan King was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 73rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Darren McNuyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jordan King in the 77th minute. Danny Downie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Torry in the 83rd minute of the match. Jordan King in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Darren McNuyer, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, Rangers FC's Darren McNuyer got control of the ball when Jordan King tried to sneak it across the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Jordan King had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Darren McNuyer. Rangers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jordan King was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. The Linlithgow City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Linlithgow City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
