An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliot Wallace in the 5th minute of play forced Arbroath's goalkeeper Kyle McAdam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 6 minutes, Robert Blain mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lochboisdale and the Arbroath players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Arbroath booed when Lochboisdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Blain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lloyd Lambie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raymond Acton having to interfere. After having played for 12 minutes, Rupert Lawrie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arbroath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Lawrie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronan Barbour was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 16th minute. Lochboisdale's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Lochboisdale's Raymond Acton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Lawrie in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Lochboisdale's goal looked a bit too open when Lloyd Lambie came free, but Raymond Acton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Arbroath booed when Lochboisdale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timmy Stevenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Rupert Lawrie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arbroath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert Lawrie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arbroath's Kyle McAdam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Arbroath from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the game, Robert Blain recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kyle McAdam. Robert Blain showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After having played for 40 minutes, Elliot Wallace managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lochboisdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elliot Wallace was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronan Barbour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kyle McAdam having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Rupert Lawrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Raymond Acton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 52nd minute, Steve Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kyle McAdam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronan Barbour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kyle McAdam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronan Barbour, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Ronan Barbour recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kyle McAdam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronan Barbour, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronan Barbour in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kyle McAdam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd match minute, Arbroath was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy McDonald to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Lloyd Lambie in the 79th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Ben McConchy fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lochboisdale's protests and gave Ben McConchy a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lochboisdale fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 82nd minute. Penalty! In the 91st minute, Rupert Lawrie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute, Steve Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lochboisdale were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Arbroath for a fine match.
