Spectators: 6855 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1855, VIP seats: 0) Sam Malcolmson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 4 minutes into the game, Reece McEachern was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tain City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crazy Hill the free kick. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Crazy Hill. Rory Bryde stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Greig Blain. 0-1. Greig McConnach charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greig McConnach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Tain City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greig McConnach to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Tain City's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Malcolmson came free, but Greig Blain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ben Fox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeremy Pinkerton made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Ben Fox sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Crazy Hill's zone, Eric McGhie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremy Pinkerton came out of the goal and Eric McGhie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Murray Menzies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crazy Hill's supporters rose to their feet, but Murray Menzies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greig Blain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tain City's Greig Blain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Malcolmson in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Sam Malcolmson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greig Blain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric McGhie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jeremy Pinkerton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Eric McGhie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 38 played minutes Crazy Hill got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm McOmish. Jeremy Pinkerton came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Tain City's Ben Fox. But to his dismay, Ben Fox quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A hard shot 46 in the game by Ben Fox from a close distance when the talented Jeremy Pinkerton managed to make a qualified save. Crazy Hill's players were relieved. After the first half Crazy Hill were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric McGhie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeremy Pinkerton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric McGhie in the 54th minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Tain City got a freekick which was hit by Ben Fox. In the 56th match minute, Tain City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddie Aitcheson to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Crazy Hill's Shaun Pratt got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donald McGilvray got free with Greig Blain in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tain City's Greig Blain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Malcolmson in the 69th minute of play. Greig Blain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donald McGilvray in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, Tain City's Paddy McGeoch got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute, Donald McGilvray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donald McGilvray struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Greig Blain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crazy Hill. Jeremy Pinkerton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Fox, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sam Malcolmson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Greig Blain. That made the score 1-3 in the 91 minute of play. Sam Malcolmson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greig Blain having to interfere. The Crazy Hill players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
