The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacob Cullen got free with Ronnie Ferries in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronnie Ferries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy McBeath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Jacob Cullen sped through Annihilators's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronnie Ferries. In the 25th minute, Nick Edwards hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Alisdair McMath managed to get in a good position for a shot. Annihilators's supporters rose to their feet, but Alisdair McMath was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gordon Sanderson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the game, Phil McGorrie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CEltiv's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annihilators the free kick. After a rather tough play, CEltiv's Phil McGorrie got a free kick in the 27th minute. Jason Bates hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Jacob Cullen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Ronnie Ferries made a huge save. Andy McBeath received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronnie Ferries came out and tried to block the shot, but Andy McBeath slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 43rd minute. Peter Addison struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ronnie Ferries didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CEltiv.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alisdair McMath made a kick off. Jacob Cullen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 53 played minutes Alisdair McMath rounded CEltiv's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 5-1. In the 70th minute Jacob Cullen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Ferries saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Annihilators's Ivan Murchison got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ivan Murchison's late challenge caught a CEltiv's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Murchison helped the player get up and apologised. After 85 minutes, Andy McBeath mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CEltiv and the Annihilators players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andy McBeath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Ferries having to interfere. If Andy McBeath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
