After 5 played minutes Sheperton FC got a freekick which was hit by Barry McLise. A collision led to Sheperton FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jonathan McCammon hit a great ball. Jason Coull made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry McLise in the 9th minute of play. With a little luck, Sheperton FC's Wally Ballantyne got control of the ball when Liam Malloch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barry McLise's late challenge caught a Ebola United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barry McLise helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sheperton FC's goalkeeper Wally Ballantyne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ebola United were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Sheperton FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Max McMinn took the corner. Jason Coull took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paddy McKendrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Ebola United's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan McCammon came free, but Jason Coull reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Paddy McKendrick was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sheperton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ebola United the free kick. Liam Malloch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 minutes, Rod Carter made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Sheperton FC's Wally Ballantyne tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Guy Lauchlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rod Carter might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wally Ballantyne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rod Carter ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 39 minutes, Liam Malloch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ebola United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liam Malloch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rod Carter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rod Carter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Ballantyne having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rod Carter in the 55th minute of play forced Sheperton FC's goalkeeper Wally Ballantyne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guy Lauchlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61stth minute of the game Rod Carter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sheperton FC's Wally Ballantyne was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Sheperton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rod Carter came free, but Wally Ballantyne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Liam Lewis might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wally Ballantyne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Liam Lewis ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Liam Malloch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ebola United's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Malloch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wally Ballantyne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the game, Guy Lauchlan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Wally Ballantyne was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 78 minutes into the match, Ebola United's Rod Carter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wally Ballantyne narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jason Coull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry McLise in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rod Carter in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wally Ballantyne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dougal Baxter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Ballantyne having to interfere.
