The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 14th minute, Nicky Aitken sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Johnstone SFC's Patrick McAdam didn't even have to move. If Henry McHutcheon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute of the match Bradley Keene shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sid Alcock showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sid Alcock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ter McQuisten in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Henry McHutcheon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sid Alcock was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ter McQuisten succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. When Johnstone SFC's Henry McHutcheon in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye M.Z worst manager game FC's goalie prevented a goal. Hugh McAy charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugh McAy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ter McQuisten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sid Alcock having to interfere. Henry McHutcheon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sid Alcock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Sid Alcock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry McHutcheon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bradley Keene kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alistair Beadle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henry McHutcheon in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sid Alcock saved M.Z worst manager game FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, M.Z worst manager game FC's Hugh McAy got a free kick in the 62nd minute. A hard shot 66 in the game by Ter McQuisten from a close distance when the talented Sid Alcock managed to make a qualified save. M.Z worst manager game FC's players were relieved. Patrick McAdam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David McMonies in the 76th minute of play. Henry McHutcheon might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sid Alcock. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henry McHutcheon ran back to his position shaking his head. Ter McQuisten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ter McQuisten came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sid Alcock could save by the left post. If Henry McHutcheon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Hugh McAy was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. Hugh McAy hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ter McQuisten got free with Sid Alcock in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alistair Beadle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Patrick McAdam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sid Alcock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry McHutcheon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
