But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronald Eadie couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Orkney's Wal Beattie got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ricky McFater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm McEoin having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, KingsHall's goal looked a bit too open when Shane Davenport came free, but Malcolm McEoin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Adrian Morren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KingsHall's Malcolm McEoin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricky McFater in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, KingsHall's Willie Armour dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Malcolm McEoin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ronald Eadie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Chris Fairbairn made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ricky McFater's late challenge caught a KingsHall's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricky McFater helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Orkney's Ricky McFater got a free kick in the 86th minute.
