Luke Burnett took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wayne Ferries. Glenfinnan FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Perth Punks booed when Glenfinnan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicol McGorrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Wayne Ferries tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnny Burns kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Alex Fish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 82nd minute, Bruce Reilly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Perth Punks's Alex Fish sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wayne Ferries narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Alex Fish came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Perth Punks fans jumped to their feet. After a defensive mix-up in Perth Punks's zone, Wayne McVicar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Cobb came out of the goal and Wayne McVicar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Perth Punks's Charlie Thomson got a free kick in the 95th minute.
