The Dunbeath FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Dunbeath FC's zone, Wayne McVicar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Kennethson came out of the goal and Wayne McVicar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Timothy McHardie hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Wayne Ferries showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Armstrong in the 13th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Greg Esson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dunbeath FC's Alexander Armstrong got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Greg Esson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wayne Ferries was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Greg Esson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wayne McVicar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Dunbeath FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wayne McVicar came free, but Alan Kennethson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Greg Esson might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wayne Ferries. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Greg Esson ran back to his position shaking his head. Wayne Ferries showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Armstrong in the 40th minute of the match. Glenfinnan FC's Wayne Ferries played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greg Esson in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Wayne McVicar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmond McDonnell struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Alan Kennethson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glenfinnan FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 52 played minutes Dunbeath FC got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Rusk. A collision led to Glenfinnan FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Edmond McDonnell hit a great ball. If Greg Esson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dunbeath FC's Alan Kennethson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmond McDonnell in the 67th minute of play. Paul Coulson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. If Wayne McVicar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Kieran Edie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, Edmond McDonnell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne McVicar in the 88th minute of play forced Dunbeath FC's goalkeeper Alan Kennethson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wayne McVicar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Kennethson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Bruce Reilly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glenfinnan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruce Reilly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Kennethson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wayne McVicar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Kennethson having to interfere. Raymond Rusk's late challenge caught a Glenfinnan FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raymond Rusk helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, Dunbeath FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Rusk to maneuver through the defense.
