Rosewell's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lanark AFC the free kick. A collision led to Rosewell getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Keith Cole hit a great ball. When Cameron Fyfe came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Lanark AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cameron Fyfe couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Rosewell's Steve Ferson got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Murray McLardy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Barr skillfully saved the ball. With 67 minutes on the clock, Finlay Murdoch commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a defensive mix-up in Lanark AFC's zone, Vincent McDonleavy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steven McOmie came out of the goal and Vincent McDonleavy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Walter Barr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cameron Fyfe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
