Bruce Reilly helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lanark AFC booed when Glenfinnan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruce Reilly didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Guy Gilespie sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Glenfinnan FC's Wayne Ferries didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wayne McVicar in the 20th minute of play forced Lanark AFC's goalkeeper Steven McOmie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Glenfinnan FC's Wayne Ferries got control of the ball when Cameron Fyfe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wayne McVicar might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steven McOmie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wayne McVicar ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute, Evan McIlvain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmond McDonnell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steven McOmie having to make a save. Wayne McVicar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steven McOmie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wayne McVicar in the 32nd minute of the match. If Edmond McDonnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Glenfinnan FC's Wayne McVicar got a free kick in the 37th minute. Wayne Ferries didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cameron Fyfe went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charles Sanderson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Troy Simpson kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Cameron Fyfe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute Wayne McVicar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven McOmie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Lanark AFC's zone, Wayne McVicar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steven McOmie came out of the goal and Wayne McVicar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68thth minute of the game Wayne McVicar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lanark AFC's Steven McOmie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Steven McOmie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wayne McVicar, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Wayne Ferries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Sanderson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Glenfinnan FC's Wayne McVicar in the 74th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Steven McOmie was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Lanark AFC through an amazing save. If Edmond McDonnell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edmond McDonnell came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Glenfinnan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmond McDonnell couldn't finish the play. If Wayne McVicar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Glenfinnan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Sanderson came free, but Wayne Ferries reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Cameron Fyfe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanark AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Glenfinnan FC's Edmond McDonnell got his second yellow card of the match in the 86th minute. The referee ordered Edmond McDonnell off the ground. Edmond McDonnell kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Cameron Fyfe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanark AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cameron Fyfe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Cameron Fyfe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
