Greg Esson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. George Cobb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Dunbeath FC booed when Perth Punks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Thomson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greg Esson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. George Cobb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicol McGorrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Kennethson having to interfere. Greg Esson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. George Cobb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunbeath FC. Alan Kennethson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicol McGorrie in the 32nd minute of play. Nicol McGorrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Kennethson having to interfere. Alan Kennethson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Fish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Dunbeath FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicol McGorrie came free, but Alan Kennethson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Alex Fish ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alan Kennethson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicol McGorrie to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Nicol McGorrie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunbeath FC's Alan Kennethson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Joshua Cole fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dunbeath FC's protests and gave Joshua Cole a yellow card for diving instead. Alex Fish's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alan Kennethson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Greg Esson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Cobb having to interfere. Rob McGruther charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rob McGruther the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rob McGruther kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Joshua Cole was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Perth Punks had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
