In the 14th match minute, Millport City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevie Docherty to maneuver through the defense. Millport City's Kenneth McMurray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Millport City from getting a goal against them. Sam Christie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth McMurray having to interfere. After having played for 33 minutes, Sam Christie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huntly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sam Christie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matthew McMurdo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Jacob Fox didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millport City. If Owen Milroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Owen Milroy to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Owen Milroy in the 59th minute of play forced Huntly's goalkeeper Jacob Fox to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenneth McMurray was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 86 minutes, Sam Christie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 88th minute, Sam Christie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute Owen Milroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacob Fox saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sam Christie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Huntly fans cheered their team off the field, for while Millport City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
