Benjamin Gardiner's late challenge caught a Millport City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Gardiner helped the player get up and apologised. Benjamin Gardiner kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Steve Gilbertson was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Stevie Docherty capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. After 31 played minutes Millport City got a freekick which was hit by Kenny Greusach. 37 minutes into the match, glasgow rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Johnstone came free, but Steve Gilbertson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Sid Hawes fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored glasgow rangers's protests and gave Sid Hawes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th match minute, glasgow rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sid Hawes to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Adam Harperson made the kick off in the second half. Kenny Greusach thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Kenneth McMurray, a very annoying self made goal in the 55th minute which led to 3-1. In the 61st match minute, Millport City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew McMurdo to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute Henry Johnstone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Gilbertson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, glasgow rangers's Oliver Limont seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Oliver Limont the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of glasgow rangers protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Oliver Limont had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Millport City's Jonathan McQuisten couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for glasgow rangers. Adam Harperson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Freddie Duffie hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Steve Gilbertson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Owen Milroy in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, one of glasgow rangers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for glasgow rangers. In the 77th minute there was a penalty for Millport City. Jonathan McQuisten stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Steve Gilbertson. 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in glasgow rangers's zone, Henry Johnstone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Gilbertson came out of the goal and Henry Johnstone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddie Duffie succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-2 in the 84th playminute. Freddie Duffie charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddie Duffie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Freddie Duffie kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Steve Gilbertson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Owen Milroy in the 97th minute of play. 100 minutes into the match, Millport City's Owen Milroy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Gilbertson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. glasgow rangers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
