The coaching staff of Cromarty protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lloyd Patrick had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 19 minutes into the game, one of Cromarty:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jonathan McQuisten shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Matthew McMurdo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Nathan Malcolm skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 29th play minute Matthew McMurdo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nathan Malcolm. 1-0. Nathan Malcolm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Owen Milroy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Ronald Innie made the kick off in the second half. Ronald Innie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kenneth McMurray having to make a save. Nathan Malcolm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew McMurdo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald Innie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth McMurray having to interfere. Finlay McAulay might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenneth McMurray. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Finlay McAulay ran back to his position shaking his head. Kenneth McMurray made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Ronald Innie sent off a good shot on target. Ronald Innie who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Kenneth McMurray when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Ronald Innie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80thth minute of the game Matthew McMurdo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cromarty's Nathan Malcolm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Henry Johnstone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Millport City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cromarty the free kick. Matthew McMurdo scored 2-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nathan Malcolm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kenneth McMurray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Finlay McAulay, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Millport City's Matthew McMurdo got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
