An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicky McDonleavy in the 13th minute of play forced Chelsea City's goalkeeper Matthew Buchanan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruce McOmish charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruce McOmish the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fergus Kellie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillip Gregory in the 38th minute of the match. If Elliot Swan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rdth minute of the game Elliot Swan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garve's Fergus Kellie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matthew Buchanan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicky McDonleavy showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elliot Swan was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes, Phillip Gregory made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Garve's Fergus Kellie tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Garve's goalkeeper Fergus Kellie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Phillip Gregory. After having played for 64 minutes, Jack McNiven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garve's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jack McNiven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frankie McWhirter hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. When Vincent Wharrie fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chelsea City's protests and gave Vincent Wharrie a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Chelsea City getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Vincent Wharrie hit a great ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Nicky McDonleavy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garve's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicky McDonleavy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Chelsea City's Shaun Grant got a free kick in the 74th minute. If Nicky McDonleavy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elliot Swan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garve's Fergus Kellie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Garve from getting a goal against them. After 95 minutes, Nicky McDonleavy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garve and the Chelsea City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Garve getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Nicky McDonleavy hit a great ball. If Phillip Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chelsea City were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
