Ricky McMaurice stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phillip Gregory's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. When Stevie Alder came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the FC MUMIN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stevie Alder couldn't finish the play. FC MUMIN were furious when Billy McAldonich was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliot Swan in the 24th minute of play forced FC MUMIN's goalkeeper Ricky McMaurice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Stevie Alder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vincent Wharrie hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Stevie Alder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Stevie Alder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC MUMIN booed when Chelsea City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaun Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Stevie Alder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matthew Buchanan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phillip Gregory in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricky McMaurice saved FC MUMIN from getting behind. The FC MUMIN players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chelsea City were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stevie Alder to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Richard Dyer during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tony Forest charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tony Forest the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC MUMIN getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Tony Forest hit a great ball. Ricky McMaurice acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Graham Durrant. Matthew Buchanan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevie Alder, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute.
