Spectators: 8036 (Terracing: 6028, Seating: 1848, VIP seats: 160) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andy McWhannell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordan McCansh in the 5th minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Ardrossan's Jordan McCansh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andy McWhannell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jordan McCansh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Coull scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alex Roberts, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, AKS Strzegom's Ronan McAusland got a free kick in the 19th minute. Chris Caw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andy McWhannell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordan McCansh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Coull recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Wal Cleland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ardrossan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wal Cleland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wal Cleland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy McWhannell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wal Cleland, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Eric Coull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alex Roberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wal Cleland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordan McCansh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy McWhannell having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Jordan McCansh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ardrossan's supporters rose to their feet, but Jordan McCansh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andy McWhannell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
