Andy McWhannell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek McBeath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Derek McBeath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy McWhannell having to interfere. Martin Bontein kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. A collision led to AKS Strzegom getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Graeme Denoon hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Taylor Randolf in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sid Gray saved Huntly AFC from getting behind. If Derek McBeath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Huntly AFC's zone, Eric Coull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sid Gray came out of the goal and Eric Coull tried to chip the ball over his head. Sid Gray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taylor Randolf, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Taylor Randolf to make the kick off. Liam Dunlop hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Andy McWhannell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, AKS Strzegom's goal looked a bit too open when Derek McBeath came free, but Andy McWhannell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eddie McGregor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
