The coaching staff of Club Atlético Strachur protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wal Esson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Balloch Gers a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adam Dis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atlético Strachur's Thomas Griesck. 2-0. Steve Storie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Atlético Strachur's Chris McKinning got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Thomas Griesck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nigel Oliver in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Nigel Oliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balloch Gers's supporters rose to their feet, but Nigel Oliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Griesck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris McKinning came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iain McKelloch could save by the left post. Balloch Gers's Iain McKelloch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Balloch Gers from getting a goal against them. Nigel Oliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, Club Atlético Strachur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christopher McBheath to maneuver through the defense. Nigel Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Thomas Griesck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Strachur's goal looked a bit too open when Nigel Oliver came free, but Thomas Griesck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Steve Storie came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Balloch Gers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Steve Storie couldn't finish the play. If Steve Storie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Club Atlético Strachur fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Griesck should have stopped the shot. Thomas Griesck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Oliver, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Steve Storie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mark Connall's late challenge caught a Balloch Gers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
