Ardrossan's Alex Roberts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nigel Oliver in the 5th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nigel Oliver in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Roberts saved Ardrossan from getting behind. Nigel Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Roberts having to interfere. Iain McKelloch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordan McCansh, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Ardrossan getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ray Beattie hit a great ball. Steve Storie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Roberts having to interfere. Balloch Gers's Iain McKelloch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wal Cleland in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ardrossan's zone, Nigel Oliver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Roberts came out of the goal and Nigel Oliver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicol McKinney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iain McKelloch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wal Cleland's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Iain McKelloch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordan McCansh in the 40th minute of the match. Jordan McCansh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain McKelloch having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nigel Oliver stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lee Cochrane charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lee Cochrane the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 52 minutes into the game, one of Balloch Gers:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 1-1 came through a penalty shot after 54 played minutes, when Ardrossan:s Steven McVarish calmly waited for Balloch Gers:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Wal Cleland took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iain McKelloch. Iain McKelloch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Iain McKelloch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wal Cleland in the 68th minute of the match. Peter McIlleriach kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter McIlleriach during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Peter McIlleriach hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes Ardrossan got a freekick which was hit by Nicol McKinney. Jordan McCansh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Nigel Oliver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Roberts was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Kenny Beadle's late challenge caught a Balloch Gers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenny Beadle helped the player get up and apologised. Kenny Beadle kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Nigel Oliver's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alex Roberts was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 86th minute Steve Storie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Roberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Ardrossan defense, Nigel Oliver kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Roberts. The Ardrossan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Roberts should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Wal Cleland kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iain McKelloch. That made the score 2-3 in the 94 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ardrossan had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
