Ryan Forrister took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Combie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute, Jordan McFater ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Darius Elliott was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 54 minutes, Tim McCook mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dundee United Football and the Borussia Coldside players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ryan Forrister came out of the goal and Tim McCook tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jordan McFater got free with Darius Elliott in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tim McCook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Forrister having to interfere. Blair Eadie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ricky McCaishe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordan McFater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darius Elliott having to interfere. After some careless play in the Borussia Coldside defense, Bradley McFergus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ryan Forrister. The Borussia Coldside fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ryan Forrister should have stopped the shot. In the 95th minute of the match Kevin Ferguson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ryan Forrister showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Borussia Coldside players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dundee United Football.
