Spectators: 6858 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1858, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bradley McFergus kicked off to start the match. Rory Nish stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bradley McFergus's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. When Dundee United Football's Tim McCook in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Balerno's goalie prevented a goal. Balerno's Rory Nish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley McFergus in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Balerno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward McNeiledge to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Kenny McDulothe from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Darius Elliott's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Rory Nish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bradley McFergus in the 28th minute of play. Dundee United Football's Bradley McFergus got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Combie in the 31st minute of play forced Balerno's goalkeeper Rory Nish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tim McCook succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 36th minute, James McAulay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Irvin McCrindle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Darius Elliott came out and tried to block the shot, but Irvin McCrindle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 38th minute. Rory Nish came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Dundee United Football's Bradley McFergus. But to his dismay, Bradley McFergus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bradley McFergus in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rory Nish saved Balerno from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alistair McHardy to make the kick off. Balerno's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Bradley McFergus scored to the left of an out of position Rory Nish, making the score, 1-3. Dundee United Football's Darius Elliott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alistair McHardy in the 57th minute of play. Rory Nish showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradley McFergus in the 60th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Balerno's zone, Bradley McFergus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rory Nish came out of the goal and Bradley McFergus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 63 played minutes Balerno got a freekick which was hit by Irvin McCrindle. Ronald McMichael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Balerno getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Irvin McCrindle hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the game, Bradley McFergus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Rory Nish was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Darius Elliott made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald McMichael in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, Balerno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian McAy to maneuver through the defense. When Dundee United Football's Bradley McFergus in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Balerno's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Bradley McFergus put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Rory Nish. Bradley McFergus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rory Nish having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Irvin McCrindle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dundee United Football's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
