The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jordan McFater in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rory Nish prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rory Nish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordan McFater in the 16th minute of play. Borussia Coldside's Ryan Forrister proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Borussia Coldside from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Balerno's goalkeeper Rory Nish, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Borussia Coldside's Ricky McCaishe got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rory Nish didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Derek Greusach went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josh Garvie during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Josh Garvie hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Jordan McFater's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rory Nish read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The wind increased when Derek Greusach made the kick off in the second half. If Jordan McFater had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Balerno's Angus McRobert got a free kick in the 55th minute. Borussia Coldside's Ryan Forrister played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irvin McCrindle in the 59th minute of play. When Alistair McHardy fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balerno's protests and gave Alistair McHardy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Alistair McHardy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ricky McCaishe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Balerno's goalkeeper Rory Nish had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jordan McFater. When Ricky McCaishe came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Borussia Coldside fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricky McCaishe couldn't finish the play. Rory Nish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Derek Greusach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Borussia Coldside's Derek Greusach ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rory Nish. Rory Nish yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. With a little luck, Balerno's Rory Nish got control of the ball when Shaun Wright tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Dylan Falconer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Coldside's supporters rose to their feet, but Dylan Falconer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rory Nish breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Balerno fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Borussia Coldside were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
