In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Great Britain LIONS FC. Andrew Tyre stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Keith McKelvie. 1-0. In the 9th minute, Adam McKessock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Jacob McLardy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keith McKelvie was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Samuel McRach kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel McDermid in the 14th minute of play forced Great Britain LIONS FC's goalkeeper Alexander Bonar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Rick McKellaigh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 18 minutes, Fraser Connelly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skelmorlie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fraser Connelly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Adam McKessock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Bonar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Jacob McLardy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skelmorlie's Keith McKelvie was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Skelmorlie's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob McLardy came free, but Keith McKelvie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes of play, Skelmorlie's Daniel McDermid made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alexander Bonar was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 40 played minutes Skelmorlie got a freekick which was hit by Fraser Connelly. Great Britain LIONS FC's Jacob McLardy got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexander Bonar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Craig Bowmaker in the 43rd minute of play. After 46 minutes, Steve Fee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Great Britain LIONS FC and the Skelmorlie players grew even worse after the yellow card. 48 minutes into the match, Great Britain LIONS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel McDermid came free, but Alexander Bonar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacob McLardy made a kick off. Ryan Fowler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keith McKelvie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Craig Bowmaker who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Alexander Bonar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Great Britain LIONS FC's Alexander Bonar got control of the ball when Adam McKessock tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam McKessock kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alexander Bonar. That made the score 3-2 in the 73 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Great Britain LIONS FC's Samuel Frew got a free kick in the 79th minute. Keith McKelvie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob McLardy's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Alexander Bonar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fraser Connelly in the 85th minute of the match. When Craig Bowmaker came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Skelmorlie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Craig Bowmaker couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Great Britain LIONS FC had won after a very even match.
