Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee ignored DALLAS STARS's protests and gave Ken Hutchenson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Inverurie Locos booed when DALLAS STARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Hutchenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Terence McCombich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the DALLAS STARS players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
