With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lee McEwan in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keith McKelvie saved Skelmorlie from getting behind. After 5 played minutes Great Britain LIONS FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Tyre. Skelmorlie's Keith McKelvie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee McEwan in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of Skelmorlie booed when Great Britain LIONS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm McIvor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexander Bonar made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Adam McKessock sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute, Skelmorlie's Alexander Lamondson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alexander Lamondson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Skelmorlie protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexander Lamondson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 16 minutes into the game, one of Skelmorlie:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 23rd minute, Lee McEwan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keith McKelvie was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Fowler in the 28th minute of play forced Skelmorlie's goalkeeper Keith McKelvie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Adam McKessock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Skelmorlie's zone, Lee McEwan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keith McKelvie came out of the goal and Lee McEwan tried to chip the ball over his head. Great Britain LIONS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lee McEwan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Craig Bowmaker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 51 in the game by Lee McEwan from a close distance when the talented Keith McKelvie managed to make a qualified save. Skelmorlie's players were relieved. If Ryan Fowler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Keith McKelvie made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Lee McEwan sent off a good shot on target. Lee McEwan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keith McKelvie having to make a save. Adam McKessock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lee McEwan took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keith McKelvie. Keith McKelvie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Gray got free with Keith McKelvie in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Skelmorlie's Keith McKelvie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Skelmorlie from getting a goal against them. Alexander Bonar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Craig Bowmaker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fraser Connelly fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skelmorlie's protests and gave Fraser Connelly a yellow card for diving instead. Fraser Connelly kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Great Britain LIONS FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Skelmorlie.
