Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Chris McWattie managed to get in a good position for a shot. hc barmy army's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris McWattie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bob McRob breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris McWatties short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Bob McRob to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 18 minutes, Frankie Shannon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. hc barmy army's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frankie Shannon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee gave Kirknewton a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by William Haggart, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of hc barmy army's Cameron Archibald. 0-1. In the 26th match minute, Kirknewton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phil McCreath to maneuver through the defense. Kirknewton's Dougal McBeolain got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Neil Gray mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kirknewton and the hc barmy army players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Kirknewton got a freekick which was hit by Neil Gray. Conor Millar, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frankie Shannon in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bob McRob saved Kirknewton from getting behind. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kirknewton's goalkeeper Bob McRob, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frankie Shannon to strike the kick off in the second half. Bob McRob stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris McWattie's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Phil McCreath got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Bob McRob made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Dougal McBeolain kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Conor Millar, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Kirknewton getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Vincent Findlater hit a great ball. Conor Millar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bob McRob. Kirknewton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frankie Shannon in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bob McRob prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Chris McWattie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frankie Shannon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Bob McRob tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bob McRob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris McWattie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
