A collision led to Thurso AFC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Kenny Appleby hit a great ball. If Ciaran Dixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciaran Dixon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dylan Ewart having to make a save. Sam McAslan struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Dylan Ewart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castlebay. Barry Carstarphen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Burk kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Thurso AFC's Munro Doig got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Barry Carstarphen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iain McGuffie. Castlebay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barry Carstarphen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Ciaran Dixon put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dylan Ewart. 38 minutes into the match, Castlebay's goalkeeper Iain McGuffie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barry Carstarphen. Castlebay's Ciaran Dixon got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Thurso AFC's Patrick Brodie got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Sam McAslan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dylan Ewart having to interfere. Dylan Ewart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciaran Dixon, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Munro Doig made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Ciaran Dixon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ciaran Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sam McAslan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dylan Ewart made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciaran Dixon in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Harold Gill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Ewart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Thurso AFC's Kenny Appleby got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute, Bob Webster made a precise shot to the right of Dylan Ewart. Thurso AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Bob Webster hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Barry Carstarphen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iain McGuffie having to interfere. Iain McGuffie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Munro Doig in the 71st minute of play. Barry Carstarphen kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Sam McAslan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Castlebay booed when Thurso AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gus Andrews didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dylan Ewart made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciaran Dixon in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Munro Doig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thurso AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Munro Doig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iain McGuffie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Bob Webster fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Castlebay's protests and gave Bob Webster a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 played minutes Castlebay got a freekick which was hit by Bob Webster. In the 89th minute of the match Timothy Reidfurd sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iain McGuffie skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Munro Doig in the 91st minute of play forced Castlebay's goalkeeper Iain McGuffie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Castlebay's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Carstarphen came free, but Iain McGuffie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sam McAslan during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Castlebay got a freekick which was hit by Sam McAslan. After 98 played minutes, Thurso AFC's Timothy Reidfurd shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iain McGuffie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Thurso AFC reached it. Castlebay played a much better game than Thurso AFC and deserved their victory. The Thurso AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
