In the 20th minute Stewart Harvey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie McVeagh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kieran Lewis was the one to do the kick off. The tension between the Westhill and the Colintraive players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Martin Innie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Willie McVeagh. That made the score 1-5 in the 82 minute of play. Stewart Harvey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Willie McVeagh made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Martin Innie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westhill's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Innie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willie McVeagh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Innie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Willie McVeagh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Graeme Blackburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Colintraive fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Westhill were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
