Spectators: 7474 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rod Gunn kicked off to start the match. Matt Coulter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lewis Buckley having to interfere. Terry Denune charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Terry Denune the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Terry Denune hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Jacob Shannon's late challenge caught a Montgomerie Galaxy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacob Shannon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, DVA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Shannon to maneuver through the defense. After 17 played minutes Montgomerie Galaxy got a freekick which was hit by Terry Denune. Jim McMillan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donald Lauchlan in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Tom Wallace shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim McMillan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

In the 52nd minute, Montgomerie Galaxy's Nicol McWhannell seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nicol McWhannell the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Montgomerie Galaxy protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nicol McWhannell had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 52 minutes into the game, one of Montgomerie Galaxy:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jacob Shannon scored 1-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lewis Buckley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bob Hawthorn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jim McMillan made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Rod Gunn sent off a good shot on target. 1-1 became the score in the 69th minute when Rod Gunn elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A hard shot 79 in the game by Rod Gunn from a close distance when the talented Jim McMillan managed to make a qualified save. DVA's players were relieved. Tom Wallace received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jim McMillan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rod Gunn came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Montgomerie Galaxy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rod Gunn couldn't finish the play. Jim McMillan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rod Gunn in the 86th minute. After 89 minutes, Joseph McDonnell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montgomerie Galaxy and the DVA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Montgomerie Galaxy's Joseph McDonnell got a free kick in the 89th minute. If Rod Gunn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
