Glasgow Clan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Forester was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Guy McBaxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim McMillan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rick Coulter's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Eric Forester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jim McMillan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Richard Gaunson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Glasgow Clan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Gaunson couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute Adam Paterson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Callum Wilkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glasgow Clan's Eric Forester got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Glasgow Clan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Glasgow Clan walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
