In the 13th minute Iain Broom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quentin Coulthart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iain Broom in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quentin Coulthart saved Ryde from getting behind. George McGugan placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Richard Grant charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Grant the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Richard Grant kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. When Ryde's Joe Bontine in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Keith United's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Keith United's Douglas Broom got control of the ball when Joe Bontine tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ryde's George McGugan got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Nicholas McLerie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quentin Coulthart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas McLerie in the 96th minute of play. Ryde's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
