After 30 minutes of play, Appin City's Adrian Barnfather made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Douglas Broom was left in no man's land by his defense there! Douglas Broom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc McLintock in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky McGillivour in the 38th minute of play forced Appin City's goalkeeper Munro Paterson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marc McLintock in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Broom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adrian Barnfather scored 2-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Douglas Broom, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iain Broom to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Keith United booed when Appin City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus McRuer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Marcus McRuer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Appin City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Keith United the free kick. In the 61st minute, Marcus McRuer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Appin City's zone, Ricky McGillivour stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Munro Paterson came out of the goal and Ricky McGillivour tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Barnfather received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Douglas Broom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Appin City's Munro Paterson got control of the ball when Ricky McGillivour tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 87 minutes, Arthur Keene mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Appin City and the Keith United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Keith United booed when Appin City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Keene didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Keith United's Declan Ayres got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Barnfather in the 92nd minute of play forced Keith United's goalkeeper Douglas Broom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Adrian Barnfather got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Appin City's Marc McLintock got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
