The audience was convinced that Danny Gilespie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ray McPhedron was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22ndth minute of the game Danny Gilespie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dunbeath FC's Ray McPhedron was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a left leg Ray McPhedron saved Dunbeath FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Dunbeath FC's zone, Angus Howison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ray McPhedron came out of the goal and Angus Howison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Owen Lemond kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Danny Gilespie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the game, Danny Gilespie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ray McPhedron was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Graham McGuffie made the kick off in the second half. Angus Howison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danny Gilespie got free with Ray McPhedron in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Rangers FC booed when Dunbeath FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Innes McKenrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ray McPhedron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold McGuffie, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Ray McPhedron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angus Howison in the 68th minute of play. After 77 minutes of play, Rangers FC's Angus Howison made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ray McPhedron was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Danny Gilespie got free with Ray McPhedron in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ray McPhedron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Danny Gilespie's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 90th minute, Tom Lonie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, Dunbeath FC's goalkeeper Ray McPhedron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angus Howison. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Connor Alsop managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rangers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Connor Alsop was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ray McPhedron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 96 minutes, Danny Gilespie made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Dunbeath FC's Ray McPhedron tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Rangers FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dunbeath FC throughout the match.
