Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Terence Bowers got the match started through his kick off. David Stenhouse came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Montrose FC's Blair Georgeson. But to his dismay, Blair Georgeson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Fraser Laidlaw's late challenge caught a Mallaig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fraser Laidlaw helped the player get up and apologised. Fraser Laidlaw kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Blair Georgeson came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and David Stenhouse could save by the left post. With a little luck, Mallaig's David Stenhouse got control of the ball when Fraser Laidlaw tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Stenhouse came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Montrose FC's Fraser Laidlaw. But to his dismay, Fraser Laidlaw quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. David Stenhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davie McGilroy in the 19th minute of the match. Mallaig's David Stenhouse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence Bowers in the 21st minute of play. David Stenhouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terence Bowers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Mallaig's goal looked a bit too open when Terence Bowers came free, but David Stenhouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mallaig's David Stenhouse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terence Bowers in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Guy McAdam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Stenhouse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blair Georgeson came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and David Stenhouse could save by the left post. David Stenhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terence Bowers in the 34th minute of the match. Montrose FC's Declan McLardy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Scott McNeiledge in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Bowers in the 44th minute of play forced Mallaig's goalkeeper David Stenhouse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blair Georgeson got free with David Stenhouse in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mallaig's David Stenhouse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fraser Laidlaw in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Scott McNeiledge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Montrose FC booed when Mallaig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Buchanan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match Owen McSween sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Stenhouse skillfully saved the ball. Blair Georgeson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 60thth minute of the game Blair Georgeson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mallaig's David Stenhouse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Munro McCombie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Declan McLardy having to interfere. In the 65th minute Blair Georgeson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Stenhouse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott McNeiledge could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Declan McLardy made a huge save. In the 71st minute Munro McCombie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Declan McLardy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Munro McCombie recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Declan McLardy. Munro McCombie showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. David Stenhouse came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Montrose FC's Blair Georgeson. But to his dismay, Blair Georgeson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. David Stenhouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terence Bowers in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Fraser Laidlaw left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montrose FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Scott McNeiledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute of the match, Scott McNeiledge got a very nice opportunity to score, but Declan McLardy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. David Stenhouse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terence Bowers, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mallaig players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Montrose FC.
