Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Montrose FC's goal looked a bit too open when Keith Fraser came free, but Declan McLardy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clydebank's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Fraser Laidlaw scored to the left of an out of position Taylor Randolf, making the score, 1-0. Fraser Laidlaw kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Montrose FC got a freekick which was hit by Terence Bowers. Clydebank's Calum Addison suffered a sore thigh after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Terence Bowers's late challenge caught a Clydebank's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terence Bowers helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Montrose FC got a freekick which was hit by Terence Bowers. Montrose FC's Declan McLardy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taylor McKerracher in the 14th minute of play. Taylor Randolf made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Fraser Laidlaw sent off a good shot on target. Blair Georgeson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Taylor Randolf made a huge save. In the 17th match minute, Clydebank was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimmy McConacher to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Blair Georgeson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Montrose FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Montrose FC's Owen McSween couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 24th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clydebank. Taylor Randolf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terence Bowers, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Clydebank's goal looked a bit too open when Terence Bowers came free, but Taylor Randolf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Fraser Laidlaw recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Taylor Randolf. Fraser Laidlaw showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Blair Georgeson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Taylor Randolf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Davie McGilroy fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montrose FC's protests and gave Davie McGilroy a yellow card for diving instead. Davie McGilroy kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The supporters of Montrose FC booed when Clydebank was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben McLaverty didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Terence Bowers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taylor Randolf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match Montrose FC got a corner. Clydebank's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Owen McSween ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Montrose FC's corner Owen McSween fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Taylor Randolf quite easily take care of the ball. Blair Georgeson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Taylor Randolf made a huge save. Taylor Randolf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Terence Bowers, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Raith made a kick off. Davie McGilroy hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute, Keith Fraser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David McNeilage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taylor Randolf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fraser Laidlaw, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Ben McLaverty hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. When Blair Georgeson came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Montrose FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blair Georgeson couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Clydebank booed when Montrose FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blair Georgeson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chris Raith recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Chris Raith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Montrose FC booed when Clydebank was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Manson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Montrose FC's Declan McLardy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Montrose FC from getting a goal against them. When Fraser Laidlaw fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montrose FC's protests and gave Fraser Laidlaw a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Fraser Laidlaw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clydebank were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Montrose FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Keith Fraser took the corner. The corner ended in Chris Raith almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Montrose FC's Declan McLardy did a great save. Montrose FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
